If you add a family member and include an email address for them you have created what we call a "pending" member account.

This is a middle ground between a passive profile and an active member account.

For example, let's say Joe Schmoe creates a profile for his brother Bo and includes an email address. Bo is automatically sent an invitation and his profile goes from being passive to pending. If Bo accepts the invitation and creates a password he has an active member account.

If one of your family members is pending you may want to email them and suggest that they check their spam filter for messages from WikiTree. If they still don't see the invite, and their e-mail address is correct, resend the invitation through their Edit page or your Watchlist.
